Texas Renegade Outriders Foundation
The Texas Renegade Outriders Foundation is dedicated to preserving and interpreting Texas trail ride traditions and western heritage for the benefit of the public and future generations. Through participation in historically significant trail rides, wagon preservation, public demonstrations, educational programs, and youth agricultural outreach, the Foundation promotes appreciation and understanding of Texas history and culture.
The Foundation proudly joined the historic Salt Grass Trail in 2024, marking the fulfillment of Kacey Stewart’s dream to create a wagon rooted in tradition of western trail heritage and keeping the spirit of the trail alive. TRO was founded by nine dedicated charter directors: Kacey Stewart, David Russell, Mandi Cary, Cash Cary, Jeb Burris, Christina Mulvey, Joel Dawson, Christine Dawson, and Gabriel Ashworth. Each director brings years of experience, unique talents and contributions, making the Texas Renegade Outriders Foundation a welcoming home for community members dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Old West and the wagons that shaped our nation.
Strength and success of The Foundation lies in their participants consisting of approximately 115 community members. With some traveling from across the country and all around the state of Texas. The foundation’s camaraderie flourished to the extent that a second wagon has to be added to their ranks for Salt Grass.
The Texas Renegade Outriders Foundation proudly earned the coveted Best Appearing Group Award at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo™ Parade (2024) during their inaugural year—a significant achievement and true testament to their spirit and dedication. In there second and third year The Foundation earned the Best Show Wagon Award at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo™ Parade (2025 & 2026).
